Holy Vegan Vindication!

Hey y’al!

Where are all my vegans and vegetarians at?! Today, be vindicated my sweet souls as I shine a light on something most of y’al already know through experience, veganism is next to Godliness. To the meat eaters out there, allow me to present our case through a Godly lens, you have not heard our voices, will you hear His?

All living things get their “power” through vegetables, either through direct consumption, or secondary consumption. Direct consumption would be directly eating fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes and seeds, you are a vegan or vegetarian if you are directly consuming vegetables to gain your “power”.

Secondary consumption would be consuming an animal that gains their “power” from fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes and seeds, i.e.- cows, lambs, goats, deer, fowls, locusts, etc. I have just described the diet of most of the world.

Then there’s tertiary consumption, the eating of predatory animals or those that are prone to cannibalism in times of drought and famine.

When God Freed His People through Moses, He Gave Moses The Law during their 40 year stint in the wilderness. He Would later Scatter the Israelites all over the world because of their failure to adhere to God’s Words, a topic we will delve into another a time; however, one of The Statutes God Spoke to Moses was about our diet, or the things that were deemed clean enough for us to eat. Most of us have long since strayed from this aspect of God’s Commandments because of the words of Jesus… God Does not Say anything in vain, He Absolutely Means what He Says, and He Did not Spend thousands of years Saying these things only to Throw His Hands up and Say, ‘Ok, do what you want..’ We will also talk more about Jesus, the one who was to be named Immanu-el, another day. You can call him Immanu-el all you want, you can attempt to justify any additional name he is called, by any means you want, but remember God Does not Speak in vain, God Does not Waste His Breath, EVER, (*cough* IT’S IDOLATRY).

Forgive me for the tangents, I get very upset–if you can’t tell–when it comes to God and the Pain we have caused Him with our repeated follies and blatant inability to listen.

Anyhow, back to our diet. In the book of Leviticus Chapter 11 (and again, in more concise detail in the book of Deuteronomy 14), God Speaks to Moses and Aaron regarding the Laws about animals for food:

He Says, ‘These are the creatures which you may eat from all the animals that are on the earth.’ [Lev. 11:2]

  1. Whatever divides a hoof, thus making split hoofs, and chews the cud… [Lev. 11:3]
  2. Nevertheless, you are not to eat of these, among those which chew the cud, or among those which divide the hoof: the camel, for though it chews cud, it does not divide the hoof, it is unclean to you. [Lev. 11:4]
  3. Likewise, the rock badger, for though it chews the cud, it does not divide the hoof, it is unclean to you; [Lev. 11:5] (tertiary consumption)
  4. the rabbit also… [Lev. 11:6] (tertiary consumption; this includes all rodents of a similar nature to the rabbit.)
  5. and the pig… [Lev. 11:7] (tertiary consumption; God Has Revealed to me that the pig is an animal that was at one time created in a lab a lonnnnnngggg time ago, as a solution to the extreme famine the people of that time were experiencing due to their unwillingness to listen to God’s Words.)
  6. You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.[Lev. 11:8]
  7. These you may eat, whatever is in the water: all that have fins and scales, those in the water, in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat. [Lev. 11:9]
  8. But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers, that do not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you [Lev. 11:10]
  9. Whatever in the water does not have fins and scales are detestable things to you [Lev. 11:12]
  10. These, moreover, you shall detest among the birds; they are detestable things, not to be eaten: [Lev. 11:13-19]
    1. the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard
    2. the kite, the falcon and the like
    3. all kinds of ravens
    4. the ostrich, the owl, the sea gull, the hawk and the like
    5. the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl
    6. the white owl, the pelican, the carrion vulture
    7. the stork, the heron of all kinds, the hoopoe, the bat
  11. All the swarming things with wings (bugs) that walk on all fours are detestable to you.
  12. Yet these you may eat of the swarming things with wings (bugs) which walk on all fours: those which have above their feet jointed legs with which to jump on the earth. [Lev. 11:21]
    1. the locust of every kind, including the devastating locusts
    2. the cricket of every kind
    3. the grasshopper of every kind [Lev. 11:22]
  13. All other bugs which are four-footed are detestable to you. (If you touch them, dead or alive, you will be made unclean until the sun goes down.) [Lev. 11:24] All that they touch will be made unclean, EXCEPT FOR living water. Living water is water that flows; as into a cistern, springs, rivers, oceans, the water is not unclean, and you will only be unclean if the bug or dead bug, unclean animal or dead animal touches you. [Lev. 11:25-26 &36]
  14. Also whatever walks on its paws, among all the creatures that walk on all fours, are unclean to you (and anything they touch will be unclean) [Lev. 11:32-37…]
    1. the mole
    2. the mouse
    3. the great lizard of all kinds
    4. the gecko
    5. the crocodile and reptiles of all kinds [Lev. 11:29-31]
    6. every swarming thing
    7. whatever crawls on its belly or walks on all fours
    8. whatever has many feet [Lev. 11:42]

So there you have it, these are the creatures which God Has Placed on the earth for us to eat, along with the ones we are to stay away from. Now you may be wondering how this vindicates the vegans and vegetarians, as the lists above seem to be in favor of eating meat. Allow me to introduce you to…. dun-duh-dun *drum-roll please* the prophet Daniel!

Daniel comes to us 1000-1500 years after Moses’ excursion through the desert. After many and more of the Israelites failed attempts to honor God’s Covenant, His only Covenant.

Daniel steps on scene as God Has just Used Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, as an instrument of Judgment against the ever-rebellious Israelites. Neb–as I will refer to him–orders the choice, male youths of Israel (by way of the tribe of Judah) to be delivered to him in his palace so that he may train them to become his seers, advisors and prophets. Among these youths are Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; Neb’s chief commander and right hand man would change their names to Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, respectively.

While the choice young men were in the training camps of Babylon, the king ordered that they be fed from the king’s choice food, and that they drink from the king’s own vintage!

Daniel however had a problem with this as he had never defiled himself through food; he, from birth, listened to God’s Voice and followed closely God’s Commandment’s especially when it came to his diet.

Daniel said to the chief commander, “I fear eating your king’s food and drinking your king’s drink as your men do not look well. Allow myself, along with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego to eat a diet of vegetables and water for ten days so that I may prove my point to you.” The chief commander agreed to this.

So for ten days, the four young men ate nothing but vegetables and drank only water. Much to everyone’s surprise at the end of ten days not only did they look healthier than the rest of the young men, they weighed more and had much greater muscle tone than the rest of the king’s training camp!

So the chief commander allowed them to stick to this special diet for the remainder of their training, which was three years. In that time they became smarter than the rest of the men, they achieved higher scores in all branches of literature and wisdom than the rest of the camp, they had greater mental clarity than the rest of the men, allowing them to offer greater interpretations of the kings dreams and visions.

When they graduated from the training camp, king Neb found them to be 10x greater in all ways than the rest of the school and hired them as his personal advisors, with Daniel being the leader!

This story in the book of Daniel chapter 1, is often overlooked, or easily forgotten. Ask any vegan or vegetarian, we know this to be true as we have likely tested it for ourselves. If you feel God Is Calling you to do something, and you truly hear His Voice, one of the first things you are likely to hear is, “Servant, fast.” At the end of your fast, God Will Say, “Eliminate meat, eliminate strong drink (this includes coffee), eliminate stimulants (this includes nicotine).” If you don’t hear this then God isn’t Calling you. God Will Ask you to circumcise your heart, body and soul from all pleasure.

My ex-husband and I practiced a relatively vegan lifestyle for nearly 5 years. My kids never got sick, they were leaps and bounds stronger and smarter than all the kids around us, and then divorce. From the stress and anxiety I began to lose an extreme amount of weight for my size, going from 140 to 125. I allowed the judgments of others to dictate my life, including my dietary habits; I returned with full force to a lifestyle that included mass amounts of cheeseburgers and junk foods, polar pops and white castle, donuts and skittles, thinking these changes would allow me to gain some weight, I then went from 125 to 104! Skin and bones I was, not to mention the disgusting changes to my skin. The same people who convinced me that my diet was the problem, were now convincing others I was on heroin! Something I have never encountered, by the way.

I couldn’t think straight, I couldn’t study, I couldn’t find the strength to take a hike, I was far from the person I was as a vegan. And then God Said to me, “Fast. Give Me 3 days.” I did as He Instructed me to do. At the end of this fast I felt strangely better, I could hear God’s Voice better, and He very clearly Said, “No meat, no coffee, no cigarettes.” 3 weeks later I weighed 130 and I write between 4,000 and 10,000 words per day, and returned to me is a youthful vibrancy I had forgotten existed. I can understand difficult concepts that were far from my radar prior to listening to God’s Instructions, even more so than in my first experience with veganism, I didn’t know then that it was God Who Was Guiding me, now I am certain.

All living things have a soul. Plants have the purest souls, at least according to The Words of our God. God Loves the plants, not just for their beauty, or their continued aromatic offering, He Loves them most for their reverence. They work continually for Him without question. The ones referred to as the watchers in the book of Genesis are in fact trees, or at least that is what God Has Revealed to me. They are Blessed with fantastic wisdom and knowledge some capable of out living us by thousands of years. They understand their role on this earth, fully. How great an honor it must be to provide wisdom for so many souls.

You are what you eat, I am sure you have heard?! What exactly does this mean? To consume something means the thing consuming becomes all that the consumed was. To put it more scientifically; your body is constantly creating and shedding cells. In order to make new cells your body needs fuel in the form of food. Every single day, we plop out the old and fork in the new. Your body will break apart the new, chemically separating it and adding what it can use to the building materials needed for the new cells; what it can’t use it pushes out the other end along with all the dead cells and unused building materials. You are literally in a perpetual, lifelong process of becoming what you eat.

Now let’s take a deep hard look at cows, at sheep, at goats, or deer. While we know they are capable of loving their families, their children, at times their master, they also take a big poop and turn around and eat the grass beside the poop! There is little knowledge to be gained from them, and in reality why would you want to be them?

You can say to yourself all day long that you are nothing like a cow, you would never eat the grass growing next to your poo; you’re right, you poop in a bowl and flush it away to the water treatment plant where they separate the solid matter from the liquid matter. They return the solids to the earth and plant corn in it! And the liquid matter is cleaned and flushed right back to you in the form of tap water for drinking! You eat the cow, you become the cow, and because, as I said, there is little knowledge to be gained from a cow, you are incapable of noticing that you have become the cow, and so the cycle continues! Eating meat vs. eating plants is the difference in building with clay bricks vs. building with bricks made of gold.
